Red Dragons Compete at Yellowjacket Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Oneonta men's cross country team placed 17th out of 24 teams at the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday morning. The Red Dragons scored 448 points, while Geneseo won the meet with 61.

Rochester alum Scott Sikorski won the 8,000-meter course at 25:11.5. Junior Chris Schimkus (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) was the highest finishing Red Dragon at 41st overall at 26:33.6. Freshman Alex Wheeler posted a 27:50.3 to place 124th, and junior Noah Pickard (Batavia, NY/Batavia) ran a 28:08.8 for 145th.

Sophomore Vincent DiStefano (Nesconset, NY/Smithtown West) grabbed 170th at 28:44.6, while junior Jonathan McGwyne-Dantis (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) crossed 187th at 28:58.2.

Sophomore Brady McGowan (Seaford, NY/Seaford) took 192nd at 29:05.7, and freshman Tyler Masiello (Pleasantville, NY/Westlake) ran a 29:08.4 for 193rd.

Oneonta next competes at the Lehigh Paul Short Invite on Oct. 3.
