ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Oneonta field hockey junior Alexandra Howell (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) was tabbed the SUNYAC Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week of September 8-14, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. Howell had a strong outing and recorded three goals with two assists for eight points as she helped the Red Dragons go 2-0 in a pair of non-conference games.

The Holtsville, N.Y. native started the week with a three-point performance in the Battle of the Hills. Howell scored the opening goal of the game against Hartwick, then she assisted senior Molly Miller (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) on the game-winning goal for the eventual 3-2 win over the Hawks.

In their 7-0 shutout victory against Alfred, Howell tallied two goals, including the first score of the game for the game-winner, with an assist for five points. She currently leads the SUNYAC in goals (6) and points (16).

Oneonta (5-1) has won the last five straight games and will look to continue the streak on Wednesday, September 17, against Wilkes on All College Field at 6 pm.
