Five Red Dragons Selected to Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team

ONEONTA, N.Y. - Five Oneonta student-athletes have earned spots on the 2025 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic achievements.

Receiving the honor for 2025 are women's lacrosse graduate Cassidy Moore (Hampton Bays, NY/Hampton Bays) and rising senior Lindsey Townes (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown). On field hockey are graduate student Michaela Maniscalco (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and rising juniors Abigail Draper (Remsen, NY/Holland Patent) and Alexandra Howell (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East).

Moore graduated from Oneonta with a 3.68 cumulative GPA studying communication studies, while Townes currently has a 3.80 in biology with a pre-nursing focus. Maniscalco has a 3.87 GPA for a Master of Science in Education, while Draper posted a cumulative GPA of 3.98 in adolescence education with a focus on mathematics. Howell has a 3.62 in Early Chld/Childhood Ed (B-6).

To be nominated, student-athletes must be a significant contributor to their team and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. A limit of six nominations per school is set. For field hockey and lacrosse players, nominees must have competed in at least 90 percent of the team's total games or have started at least 66 percent of the team's total games.

For the Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Teams, student-athletes from the following sports are eligible - Women's Beach Volleyball, Women's Bowling, Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Women's Golf, Women's Gymnastics, Women's Ice Hockey, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Rifle, Women's Rowing, Women's Skiing, and Women's Water Polo.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes Women's At-Large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 9.
