WILLIAMSTOWN, MA—The Oneonta men's track & field teams traveled to the Farley Inter-Regional Meet held at Williams College from May 9 to 10. Fifth-year Jonthomas Bierman (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) highlighted Saturday with a school-record performance in the 1,500-meter race.
Bierman broke the record by running a 3:54,58 to place 14th overall.
In the 110-meter hurdles, junior Tariq Earl (Centereach, NY/Centereach) placed 11th at 15.37. Junior Cam Spears (Bronx, NY/Monroe Woodbury) took 18th in the 100-meter dash at 11.10, and sophomore Narmer Johnson (Elmont, NY/Elmont) ran an 11.62. Spears went on to earn 15th in the 200-meter race at 22.41, while Johnson was 27th at 22.90.
Sophomore Colin Gerbsch (Marcellus, NY/Marcellus) took 45th in the 800 at 2:00.76.
Freshman Justin Berkowitz (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) ran a personal best of 57.39 to place 11th in the 400-meter hurdles.
Sophomore Isaiah Slater (Brooklyn, NY/John F. Kennedy) finished fifth in the long jump at 6.76 meters. In the triple jump, junior Josh Jerome (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) hit 13.09 meters for 12th overall. Sophomore Thomas Pinkowski placed 14th at 12.74 meters, while freshman Ayobami Adebayo (Long Island, NY/Longwood) placed 16th at 12.67 meters.
Senior Sawyer Eckberg (Maryland, NY/Laurens-Milford) led the Red Dragons with a fifth-place performance in the discus at 42.02 meters. Sophomore Connor Vredenburgh (Bainbridge, NY/Bainbridge-Guilford) took 13th at 39.84 meters. In the javelin, senior Marco Altieri (Staten Island, NY/Staten Island) took 11th at 44.80 meters.
Altieri continued with a seventh-place finish in the hammer throw at 49.29 meters. Eckberg finished 12th at 46.02 meters.
Oneonta next competes at the AARTFC Championships held at Williams College from May 14-15.
