Oneonta Concludes Cortland Classic

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team concluded the two-day Cortland Classic on Saturday afternoon. The Red Dragons recorded multiple personal bests as they approach championship season.

On Friday, freshman Anna Kern (Central Valley, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) ran a personal best of 12:18.50 to place second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Freshman Sophia Allen (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) took fourth at 13:00.00.

Sophomore Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) took eighth in the 100-meter prelims at 12.57. She placed seventh in the finals with a 12.87. Senior Danielle Jackson (Bronx, NY/Central Park East) ran a personal record of 12.71 for 11th overall.

The Red Dragons had three runners in the top six of the 1,500-meter race. Freshman Natalia Sweat (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) ran a personal best of 5:03.86 to finish third overall. Senior Sabrinna Mena (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) took fifth at 5:07.18, while sophomore Olivia Komacek (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) was sixth at 5:09.76.

Oneonta had two hurdlers reach the 100-hurdle finals. Freshman Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) took fourth in the prelims at 15.06, while sophomore Eko Dodd-Brown (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) took sixth at 15.66. Schrag finished third in the finals with a 14.80, and Dodd-Brown crossed sixth at 16.03.

In the 200-meter dash, senior Jackson placed tenth with a personal best of 25.92. She also placed ninth in the 400-meter race with a personal best of 1:00.14.

Sophomore Anya Sloth (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta Senior) ran a personal best of 19:17.13 to finish ninth in the 5,000-meter race.

In the invite hammer throw, junior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) threw a personal best of 47.56 meters to place ninth overall. Freshman Mackenzie Lawrence (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox) took third in the open hammer throw at a personal record of 40.55 meters. Freshman Kailey Allen (Buffalo, NY/Depew) recorded a personal record of 38.64 meters for sixth.

Senior Sage Douglass (Pine Plains, NY/Stissing Mountain) took second in the javelin at 35.60 meters, while freshman Lily Plaia (/) earned fourth at 32.45 meters.

Freshman Ashley LaReddola (Coram, NY/Longwood) cleared 2.80 meters to place fifth in the pole vault. Dodd-Brown took seventh in the long jump at 5.24 meters.

On Saturday, Oneonta's 4x100 relay of Schrag, Danielle Jackson (Bronx, NY/Central Park East), Kristanna Samascott (/), and DuBose ran an AARTFC qualifying time of 49.13 to place second.

In the 800-meter, sophomore Olivia Komacek (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) ran a personal best of 2:28.78 to finish sixth overall. Senior Samantha Krayeski (Port Washington, NY/Paul D. Schreiber Senior) crossed seventh at a personal best of 2:30.70.

Schrag won the 400-meter hurdles at a personal record of 1:05.80, while Douglass was fourth at 1:10.67.

Lawrence finished seventh in the shot put at 11.86 meters, while Herman took ninth at 11.35 meters.

Schrag placed third in the triple jump at 10.61 meters, while DuBose placed sixth with 10.46 meters.

Sophomore Sophia Mitreski (Hawthorne, NJ/Hawthorne) hit a personal best of 34.29 meters to finish ninth in the discus.

Oneonta next competes at the RPI Capital District Classic on Fri. Apr. 25.
