ONEONTA, N.Y. - Following a solid indoor campaign, freshman Ayobami Adebayo (Long Island, NY/Longwood) is the SUNYAC Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Year. Adebayo was the SUNYAC Champion in one event and scored in another at the conference championships.
Adebayo won the high jump at the SUNYAC Indoor Championships with a mark of 1.95 meters. He also placed fifth in the triple jump with a personal record of 13.51 meters. Adebayo earned all-region status in the high jump at the AARTFC Indoor Championships by placing second at 1.98 meters. The mark ranks third in Oneonta program history.
Oneonta opens the outdoor season at the Utica Almost Spring Invite on Sun. Mar. 30.
