Adebayo and Earl Named USTFCCCA Indoor All-Region

ONEONTA, N.Y. - Two Oneonta men's track & field team members picked up U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors last week. Freshman Ayobami Adebayo (Long Island, NY/Longwood) was all-region in the high jump, while junior Tariq Earl (Centereach, NY/Centereach) earned recognition in the 60-meter hurdles.

Adebayo placed second in the high jump at the AARTFC Indoor Track & Field Championships with a personal record of 1.98 meters. He won the SUNYAC high jump title at 1.95 meters. For his performance, Adebayo was the SUNYAC Rookie of the Meet.

Earl was the 60-meter hurdles SUNYAC Champion at a personal best of 8.13 in the finals. He won the prelims at 8.17. Earl won the hurdles at three meets during the indoor season.

The top-five individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-three relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Oneonta begins the outdoor season on Sat. Mar. 29 at the Utica Almost Spring Invite.
