BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Oneonta track & field team capped off the SUNYAC Indoor Championships with the Red Dragons crowned individual champions in three events. Fifth-year Jonthomas Bierman (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) won two events to be named the SUNYAC Men's Performer of the Meet, while freshman Ayobami Adebayo (Long Island, NY/Longwood) was the Rookie of the Meet for scoring the most points as a first-year. Oneonta recorded five All-SUNYAC selections.

Cortland claimed the team title with 233 points, while Oneonta was the runner-up with 103.

Junior Tariq Earl (Centereach, NY/Centereach) opened the meet by winning the 60-meter hurdles with a personal record time of 8.13. The time ranks 21st across Division III.

Bierman won his first event of the day with the mile at 4:16.83. Senior Gabe Burns (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead) crossed fourth at 4:25.56, while fifth-year John Balk, Jr. (Suffern, NY/Suffern) placed fifth at 4:28.71.

Bierman won the 3,000-meter race at 8:52.77, and Burns took second to grab All-SUNYAC Second Team honors at 8:55.28.

Oneonta's 4x400 relay earned bronze. Masen Valachovic (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield), Justin Berkowitz (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow), Cam Spears (Bronx, NY/Monroe Woodbury), and Thomas Stasichin (Massapequa, NY/Mas) ran a 3:24.70.

Adebayo claimed the SUNYAC title in the high jump at 1.95 meters. Sophomore Jayden Tsoi (North White Plains, NY/Valhalla High School) was seventh at 1.80 meters.

Sophomore Isaiah Slater (Brooklyn, NY/John F. Kennedy) hit 6.57 meters to finish ninth in the long jump.

Sophomore Justin Baldwin (Cato, NY/Cato-Meridian) was eighth in the shot put at 13.03 meters, and junior Sawyer Eckberg (Maryland, NY/Laurens-Milford) took 12th at 12.59 meters.

Oneonta next competes at the AARTFC Indoor Championship held at Ithaca University on Fri. Mar. 7.
