UTICA, N.Y. - The Oneonta men's track & field team had its final meet before the SUNAYC Championships in Saturday's Utica Fast Trax Invite.
The track events started with the 5,000-meter race, where sophomore Jesse Woodhouse (Nyack, NY/Nyack) placed sixth at 17:24.87.
Sophomore Tariq Earl (Centereach, NY/Centereach) won the 60-meter prelims at 8.36 and the finals at 8.23. Freshman Masen Valachovic (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) ran an 8.99 in the prelims and crossed third in the finals at 8.72.
Freshman Alex Darrigo (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) finished fifth in the 60-meter dash at 7.12.
Freshman Thomas Stasichin (Massapequa, NY/Mas) crossed fifth in the 300-meter dash at 37.22, while freshman Justin Berkowitz (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) was seventh at 37.74. Junior Nick Darrigo (Albany, NY/Guilderland) was ninth at 37.87.
In the 800-meter race, sophomore Colin Gerbsch (Marcellus, NY/Marcellus) was ninth at 2:05.55, and freshman Jonathan McGwyne-Dantis (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) placed tenth at 2:06.29.
Senior Michael Carey (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) took seventh in the pole vault by clearing 3.86 meters.
Freshman Ayobami Adebayo (Long Island, NY/Longwood) placed third in the high jump at 1.77 meters. In the long jump, junior Josh Jerome (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) was fifth at 6.47 meters. Sophomore Thomas Pinkowski was sixth in the triple jump at 12.62 meters, while sophomore Jayden Tsoi (North White Plains, NY/Valhalla High School) earned seventh at 12.45 meters.
Junior Sawyer Eckberg (Maryland, NY/Laurens-Milford) hit 15.53 meters in the weight throw to take fourth overall. Senior Marco Alteri placed eighth at 14.57 meters.
Sophomore Justin Baldwin (Cato, NY/Cato-Meridian) was ninth in the shot put at 12.25 meters.
Oneonta next competes at the SUNYAC Indoor Championships on Fri. Feb. 28.
