Hodkinson Takes Silver On Third Day of SUNYAC-AMCC Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Junior Macayla Hodkinson (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) placed second in the 1-meter dive to highlight the third day of the SUNYAC-AMCC Championships and earn All-SUNYAC Second Team honors. She becomes the first Oneonta women's diver since 2004 to medal at the SUNYAC Championships.

The Red Dragons are currently fifth with 227 points, while Cortland is first with 678.

Hodkinson scored 370.65 points in the prelims and then finished with 366.75 in the finals to place second overall. Junior Madeline Boyar () took seventh at 286.00, and senior Paige Splendido (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) grabbed tenth with 272.55 points.

In the swimming events, junior Allison LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) placed tenth in the 200-yard freestyle by touching at 2:03.91.

Sophomore Alexandria Bard (Schenectady, NY/Duanesburg) swam 1:07.97 to finish 15th in the 100-yard backstroke, while sophomore Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) was 16th at 1:08.04.

Freshman Alexis Gibson (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) posted a 1:00.38 to earn fifth in the 100-yard butterfly.

Oneonta's 400-yard medley relay placed sixth. Lena Nakken (Islip, NY/Islip), Cadence Dudley (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), LaBarbera, and Gibson touched at 4:18.87.

The Red Dragons conclude the SUNYAC-AMCC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 22, with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m.
