Red Dragons Finish Fourth at SUNYAC Championships

Alli LaBarbera wins bronze in 100-yard freestyle

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's swimming & diving team placed fourth out of nine teams with 326 points to conclude the SUNYAC Championships on Saturday evening. Cortland won the meet, scoring 979 points.

Oneonta opened the meet with an eighth-place performance from freshman Mary Bush (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) in the 1,650-yard freestyle at 19:49.14. Junior Ashley Brousseau (Peru, NY/Peru Central) was 13th at 20:49.39.

In the 200-yard backstroke, junior Alexandria Bard (Duanesburg, NY/Duanesburg) placed 13th at 2:24.03.

Senior Alli LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) earned bronze in the 100-yard freestyle at 55.57, while junior Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) finished tenth at 57.69. Freshman Sydney Richards (Rochester, NY/Ruben A. Cirillo) took 11th in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:39.83. Freshman Kaidyn Thompson (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) finished 15th (2:50.50), and junior Raina Willie (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville Senior) took 16th (3:03.45).

Oneonta's 400-yard freestyle relay of Bard, Richards, Lilliock, and LaBarbera swam a 3:47.33 to take fourth place.

In the three-meter dive, senior Macyla Hodkinson scored 331.05 for fourth overall.
