BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's swimming and diving team started the 2025 SUNYAC-AMCC Championships today at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center. The Red Dragons competed in one diving event and two relays. Oneonta currently sits sixth out of ten teams with 54 points. Alfred State is in the lead with 90 points.
Junior Macayla Hodkinson (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) scored 326.00 points in the 3-meter dive prelims, while senior Paige Splendido (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) scored 241.00. Hodkinson took fifth in the finals at 328.40, and Splendido was eighth at 262.70.
The swim events started with the 200-yard medley relay, where Oneonta placed eighth. Seniors Cadence Dudley (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) and Anna McCall (Ligonier, PA/Ligonier Valley) and sophomores Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) and Ashley Brousseau (Peru, NY/Peru Central) swam a 2:01.81.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the Red Dragons' group of seniors Lena Nakken (Islip, NY/Islip) and Callie Stinson (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac), junior Allison LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook), and freshman Alexis Gibson (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) took fifth at 8:25.07.
Oneonta continues the championship meet on Thur. Feb. 20, with sessions at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
