ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Oneonta men's track & field team concluded action at the Nazareth D3 Elite Meet on Saturday afternoon, with the Red Dragons competing in eight events.
Oneonta started the track events with sophomore Tariq Earl (Centereach, NY/Centereach) winning the 60-meter hurdles at 8.42. Junior Cam Spears (Bronx, NY/Monroe Woodbury) finished tenth in the 400-meter at 51.47, while freshman Thomas Stasichin (Massapequa, NY/Mas) was 14th at 52.02. Spears also placed 22nd in the 200-meter with a 23.39.
Sophomore Chris Schimkus (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) ran an 8:53.54 to cross sixth in the 3,000-meter race.
In the shot put, junior Sawyer Eckberg (Maryland, NY/Laurens-Milford) placed 14th with a throw of 12.99 meters.
Junior Josh Jerome (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) cleared 13.63 meters in the triple jump to place third. Sophomore Isaiah Slater (Brooklyn, NY/John F. Kennedy) jumped 12.79 meters to place 12th overall.
Oneonta next competes at the Utica Fast Trax Invite on Sat. Feb. 22 at 10 a.m.
