BETHLEHEM, PA - The Oneonta men's cross country team took 22nd out of 35 teams at the historic Lehigh Paul Short Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Red Dragons competed in the "Green" 8K race in a field of over 300 runners.
Haskell Indian Nations University won the race with 83 points, while Susquehanna's Derick Blair took first overall at 25:18.8.
Junior Noah Pickard (Batavia, NY/Batavia) was Oneonta's top finisher at 27:37.4 to place 57th overall. Sophomore Vincent DiStefano (Nesconset, NY/Smithtown West) ran a 29:07.3 for 149th, while junior Cael Owen (Gillett, PA/Horseheads)s took 168th at 29:26.8.
Freshman Alex Wheeler crossed at 29:28.1 to place 170th, and freshman Tyler Masiello (Pleasantville, NY/Westlake) took 193rd at 29:49.1. Sophomore Jonathan McGwyne-Dantis (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) ran a 30:23.9 for 217th, and sophomore Brady McGowan (Seaford, NY/Seaford) was Oneonta's seventh finisher at 30:25.7 for 219th place.
Oneonta's next competition is at the Rowan Border Battle on October 18.
