LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJÂ - The Oneonta women's cross country team placed 14th out of 31 teams at the Rowan Border Battle on Saturday morning. Carnegie Mellon won the 6K meet with 32 points, while Chloe Bonson took first overall at 20:57.9.
Junior Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) led the Red Dragons with a personal best of 22:29.6 to finish 27th overall. Junior Anya Sloth (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta Senior) ran a personal record of 22:51.7 to finish 53rd, while freshman Jill Cinquina (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) placed 84th at 23:29.7. Sophomore Natalia Sweat (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) ran a 23:38.9 to finish 94th, and senior Eva Woodworth (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) took 133rd at 24:24.6.
Sophomore Anna Kern (Central Valley, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) crossed 154th at 24:38.4, while junior Olivia Komacek (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) earned a personal best of 24:44.8 for 167th. Sophomore Sophia Allen (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) ran a personal best of 25:29.1, and freshman Kaitlynn Slobodin (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) crossed at 25:36.1.
Oneonta next competes at the SUNYAC Championships on Saturday, November 1.
