Oneonta Finishes Fourth at SUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Fabrizio Named Shot Put SUNYAC Champion

GENESEO, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field took fourth at Saturday's SUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Red Dragons scored 68 points, while Geneseo won with 298. 

Oneonta opened the second day of championships with the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Junior Olivia O'Donnell (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) crossed 13th at 12:27.92. 

In the first relay of the meet, Oneonta earned fourth in the 4x100 relay, with Danielle Jackson (Bronx, NY/Central Park East), Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees), Brianna Senatore (), and Ejim Nnate (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) running a 50.52. 

Junior Sabrinna Mena (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) posted a personal record of 4:53.91 in the 1,500-meter to finish fourth overall. 

Nnate earned All-SUNYAC Second Team honors in the 100-meter hurdles by placing second overall at 14.37. Freshman Eko Dodd-Brown (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) took fifth overall (15.67). 

Jackson placed seventh in the 400-meter finals with a time of 1:01.71. 

Nnate continued with a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter finals (12.77). In the 800-meter finals, sophomore Eva Woodworth (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) crossed eighth at 2:34.07.

Sophomore Olivia Holland (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) grabbed a tenth-place finish in the 5,000-meter race (20:24.42), while junior Sarah Luby (Patterson, NY/Brewster) was 14th (20:49.19). 

The track events concluded with the 4x400 relay, with Senatore, Jackson, Dodd-Brown, and Taylor Johnson (White Plains, NY/White Plains) placing fifth at 4:15.50. 

The Red Dragons had success in the field events as well. Sophomore Gabi Ragozzine (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) threw 34.78 meters in the discus to place eighth, and senior Emelene Burek (Latham, NY/Shaker) was 11th at 32.94 meters. 

Senior Isabella Fabrizio (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall) defended her title in the shot put by placing first for the second year in a row. She threw an outdoor program record of 13.67 meters to earn all-conference status. Burek finished fifth at 12.16 meters, and junior Teghan Garris (Dryden, NY/Dryden) was ninth at 11.74 meters. 

Oneonta next competes at the Williams College Farley Inter-Regional meet on Fri. May. 10.
