Oneonta Women's Track & Field Competes at Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - After being named an indoor All-American a week earlier, senior Ejim Nnate (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) broke the 100-meter hurdles school record with a time of 14.64 at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational over the weekend. The Red Dragons competed in nearly every event over the three-day meet. 

Nnate placed second in the 100 hurdle prelims at 14.68 and was second overall in the finals with a 14.64. She took 21st in the 100-meter dash at 12.74. Freshman Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) ran a 12.94 to finish 33rd, and sophomore Maggie Petty (Highland, NY/Highland) took 44th at 13.09. 

Junior Danielle Jackson (Bronx, NY/Central Park East) ran a personal best of 26.61 to finish 43rd in the 200-meter, while DuBose was 45th at 26.63. Petty crossed 69th with a personal best of 27.76. 

Jackson continued with a personal record of 1:00.45 in the 400-meter dash, while senior Taylor Johnson (White Plains, NY/White Plains) took 36th at 1:03.98. 

Senior Aubrey Soller (Monticello, NY/Monticello) ran a 6:05.03 in the mile race to place seventh overall. Senior Kaitlynn McNamara (Holbrook, NY/Sachem North) was 17th at 6:41.05. Freshman Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) placed 12th in the 3,000-meter race at 11:31.61. 

Junior Sabrinna Mena (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) ran a personal best of 18:40.81 in the 5,000-meter race for tenth place, and senior Sierra Basco (Albany, NY/Shaker) finished with a personal record of 19:26.14 for 20th overall. Senior Olivia O'Donnell (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) crossed 22nd at 19:32.50. 

Sophomore Gabi Ragozzine (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) placed 20th in the discus at 33.10 meters, while senior Isabella Fabrizio (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall) threw 30.50 meters for 34th. Sophomore Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) hit a personal best of 30.42 meters for 36th place. 

Fabrizio took sixth in the hammer throw with a personal record of 49.11 meters. Ragozzine was 24th at 39.40 meters. 

Junior Sage Douglass (Pine Plains, NY/Stissing Mountain) threw a personal best of 32.99 meters to finish eighth in the javelin. Herman also had a personal best and placed 24th at 26.60 meters. 

Fabrizio finished second in the shot put (13.13 meters), while Herman was 21st (10.66 meters). 

Oneonta continues the season at the Hamilton Outdoor Invitational on Sat. Mar. 30 at 11 a.m.
