ROCHESTER, N.Y. -Â The Oneonta women's track & field team wrapped up the first day of the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Indoor Championships on Friday evening. Senior Isabella Fabrizio (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall) earned all-region status after placing second in the shot put.Â
Oneonta started the meet with the distance medley relay of senior Oliva O'Donnell, juniors Sabrinna Mena (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East), Danielle Jackson (Bronx, NY/Central Park East), and sophomore Eva Woodworth (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool). The group ran a 12:40.64 for eighth overall.Â
Senior Ejim Nnate (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) took second place in the 60-meter hurdle prelims at 8.78. She advances to Saturday's finals at 10:35 a.m. Freshman Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) placed 20th overall in the 60-meter dash prelims with an 8.18.
In the 5,000-meter race, senior Megan Francoeur (New Lebanon, NY/Pittsfield (MA)) took 10th place at 18:20.25.
Fabrizio earned second in the shot put with a throw of 13.28 meters.Â
Oneonta continues the AARTFC Championship on Sat. Mar. 2 at 10 a.m.
