ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Women's Scholar Team of the Year and All-Academic Teams for the 2023 NCAA Division III Cross Country season were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and the Oneonta women's cross country team was named an all-academic team for the 15th time in program history.
Oneonta has also been named an all-academic team by the USTFCCCA in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers. The Red Dragons recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.47.
Carleton was named the Women's Scholar Team of the Year for the 2023 NCAA Division III Cross Country season. The Knights, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.52, won the team title at the 2023 NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships.
Additionally, three student-athletes were named all-academic athletes. Seniors Ella DePhillips (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), Megan Francoeur (New Lebanon, NY/Pittsfield (MA)), and junior Sabrinna Mena (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) grabbed the honor.
For the individual honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
