Francoeur and Fabrizio Named USTFCCCA Women’s Track & Field All-Academic Athletes

Team Named All-Academic

ONEONTA, N.Y. - Two members of the Oneonta women's cross country team earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Women's Track & Field Teams All-Academic honors last week. Juniors Megan Francoeur (New Lebanon, NY/Pittsfield (MA)) and Isabella Fabrizio (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall) both received the recognition. Additionally, the women's track & field team was named all-academic. 

In order to qualify for the individual award, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and be one of the top athletes in their respective events or participate in the national championship meet.

Francoeur was All-SUNYAC Third team in the outdoor 10,000-meter race and finished fourth at the AARTFC Championships. In the indoor season, she took fourth in the 5k at the SUNYAC Championships.

Fabrizio qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the shot put and was the outdoor SUNYAC Champion in the shot put. She placed second at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships and was All-SUNYAC Second Team in the indoor shot put. Additionally, Fabrizio set the shot put school record at 13.63 meters.

After posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.45, the team qualified for the all-academic award. 

To qualify for All-Academic team distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
