Red Dragons Conclude Bucknell Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG, PA - The Oneonta women's track & field team wrapped up the Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Sunday, with the Red Dragons competing in eight events. Oneonta went against Division I, II, and III schools.

The Red Dragons opened the day placing sixth in the 4x100 relay, with sophomore Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central), junior Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees), and freshmen Olivia Nicholls (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) and Gracie Gorrell (Columbus, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) running a 48.33 for sixth overall.

Schrag placed 19th in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.97 as the top Division III finisher in the event. She continued with a 27th-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:05.43.

Gorrell grabbed a personal best of 1:00.42 in the 400-meter for 48th place. Oneonta was well represented in the 100-meter with four Red Dragons competing. Nichols ran a personal best of 12.49 for 32nd overall, while DuBose placed 44th at 12.62. Junior Brianna Senatore () took 61st (13.04), and sophomore Kristanna Samascott (Kinderhook, NY/Ichabod Crane) was 63rd (13.08). The same group ran in the 200 meters, with Nicholls taking 32nd in 25.54. Gorrell was 53rd (26.03), DuBose finished 62nd (26.15), Samascott placed 85th (27.18), and Senatore took 88th (27.38).

Freshman Summer Sayaves (Levittown, NY/General Douglas MacArthur) ran a personal best of 10:55.37 in the 3,000-meter to finish ninth overall.

In the field events, sophomore Mackenzie Lawrence (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox) went 16th in the hammer throw at 44.90 meters. Senior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) took 18th at 44.28 meters.

Oneonta's next competition is the Cortland Classic on Friday, April 17.
