POTSDAM, N.Y. -Â After one day of action, the Oneonta men's swimming & diving team currently is third out of five teams at the Potsdam North Country Invitational. The Red Dragons scored 144 points, and Saint Michael's is first with 282 points.Â
Oneonta opened the day with a third-place finish in the 400-medley relay. Senior Daniel Oh (Huntington, NY/Harborfields) and juniors James Llewellyn (Great River, NY/East Islip), Jon Stanzione, and Mason DeLisio (Kingston, NY/Kingston) posted a time of 3:41.96. Freshman Andrew Capella (Glenville, NY/Burnt-Hills-Ballston Lake) grabbed fifth in the 500-freestyle at 5:07.61, and Llewellyn was fifth in the 200-IM with a 2:05.26.
DeLisio went on to finish third in the 50-freestyle at 21.92. Llewellyn was the top Red Dragon in the 200-backstroke after touching fifth at 2:07.43. Oh earned a third-place finish in the 100-butterfly with a 55.47.Â
Oneonta wrapped up with a solid 200-freestyle relay performance to finish second overall. DeLisio, Oh, Llewellyn, and senior Eli Cohen (Schoharie, NY/East Lake (Fla)) swam a 1:28.11.Â
Day two of the North Country Invitational starts on Sat. Nov. 18 at 10 a.m.Â
