CORTLAND, N.Y. -- After a scoreless first half, No. 15 Cortland scored three in the second for a 3-0 win over the No. 4 SUNY Oneonta men's soccer team in a conference match, Wednesday afternoon. Oneonta moved to 9-2 on the season and 2-2 in the SUNYAC, while Cortland improved to 10-1-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference.
"From our perspective, the three goals were shockingly bad, but outside of that we didn't create enough going forward," said head coach

Sophomores
Ali Somow (Utica, N.Y./Proctor) and
Milton Mancias Magana (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) had a couple shots on target in the first half for Oneonta, but Jordan Ott made the saves for Cortland.
In the 49th minute, Cortland's Jack Coleman broke the tie with a shot from 20 yards out. Mancias Magana and junior
Luigi Prosperi (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) had a look for the equalizer in the 57th and 69th minutes, however Ott again made both stops. Cortland extended their lead in the 71st when Mateo Marra caused a turnover deep in Oneonta's territory and scored. Yasin Choukri scored Cortland's last goal in the 84th minute.
Cortland outshot Oneonta 24-15, 10-4 on target, and had a 7-4 advantage on corner kicks.
Senior
Nate Hanna (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) finished with seven saves while Ott saved four for Cortland.
Oneonta is back in action Saturday for a SUNYAC match at Oswego at 12 pm.
