For the second straight week, the State University of New York Athletic Conference has selected SUNY Oneonta sophomore
Richard Mangogna (Kings Park/Kings Park) as the PrestoSports Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
Â
Mangogna earns the honor after turning in the top performance this past Friday at the Hamilton Continental Invitational. During the meet, he reset his own school record in the pole vault clearing 4.40 meters (14'-5 ¼"), inching past his previous record of 4.36 meters. Mangogna also posted personal best times in the 200-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles.
Â
In addition to competing as a pole vaulter for Oneonta, Mangogna is one of the team's multi-event athletes competing in the Heptathlon indoors and the Decathlon outdoors. Thus far, during his first official collegiate indoor season, Mangogna has posted personal best marks in four of the seven events that make up the Heptathlon.

The Red Dragons will compete next this Saturday at Utica College.
