The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team opened SUNYAC play with a 3-1 loss to Cortland on Wednesday evening. The loss dropped Oneonta's record to 1-5 on the year while Cortland improved their record to 7-0.

Cortland jumped on the board just 41 seconds into the game on a Lily Fox goal off a corner. Fox struck again at the 4:01 mark when she tallied her fifth goal of the season. Cortland added to their lead in the 47
th minute on a long blast from Hanna Corrigan.
Oneonta avoided the shutout with three seconds remaining in regulation when
Michaela Maniscalco (Northport/Northport) netted her first collegiate goal following a corner.
