A Quick Look
After 18 months away, the SUNY Oneonta men's track & field team competed in an indoor event today opening its season at the Greg Page Relays hosted by Cornell University. Today's roster of participants included sprinters, jumpers and throwers, as the distance runners prepare for the second semester.

The Inside Story
On the track, the Red Dragons had four athletes compete in both the 60-meter dash and 300 meters. Â The foursome was led by junior
Chris Ganley (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) who posted a time of 7.24 seconds in the 60 and 39.40 seconds in the 300. Sophomore
Eric Nieves (Thornwood/Westlake) wasn't far behind Ganley posting times of 7.32 seconds and 39.56 seconds.

Sophomores
Kevin Pereira (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) and
Aidan Kelly (Farmingdale/Farmingdale) rounded out the foursome. Pereira recorded times of 7.37 seconds and 41.29 seconds while Kelly crossed the finish line with times of 7.87 seconds and 40.61 seconds.

Senior
William Ford (Brewster/Brewster) and sophomore
Clifford Biehl (Babylon/Babylon) each competed in the 60 recording times of 8.00 seconds and 8.10 seconds respectively.

The 300 included sophomores Alexander Mavros and
Richard Mangogna (Kings Park/Kings Park) who recorded times of 40.51 seconds and 40.01 seconds respectively.

Mangogna also competed in the pole vault where he broke the indoor school record clearing 4.36 meters (14'-3 ½"). He eclipsed the old mark of 13'-9 ¼".

Sophomore
Alec Weiss (Selden/Newfield) led a group of jumpers who competed in the long jump. Weiss finished sixth overall in the event with a mark of 6.30 meters (20'-8"). Kelly finished 10
th in the event posting a distance of 5.76 meters (18'-10 ¾"). Sophomore
Michael Prata (Baldwin/Baldwin) and Biehl rounded out the group with marks of 5.70 meters (18'-8 ½") and 5.37 meters (17'-7 ½") respectively.

In the throws, senior
Jason Briscoe (Delmar/Bethlehem Central) led the pack in the weight throw event. Briscoe cleared 43 feet in the event posting a mark of 13.18 meters (43'-3"). Freshman
Marco Alteri (Staten Island/Staten Island) was next with a mark of 12.56 meters (41'-2 ½"). Alteri also posted a mark of 8.01 meters (26'-3 ½") in the shot put.

Sophomore
Vincent Zheng (Nanuet/Nanuet) doubled up in the weight and shot going for 11.81 meters (38'-9") in the weight throw and 12.29 meters (40'-4") in the shot put.

Senior
D'Shaun Ricketts (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon) and sophomore
James Tumia (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) were the final two competitors for Oneonta in the weight throw. Rickets posted a mark of 12.35 meters (40'-6 ¼") and Tumia posted a mark of 10.93 meters (35'-10 ¼") respectively.

The men will not compete again until the new year when they travel to Ithaca College on Friday, Jan. 14
