Brockport, NY - The SUNY Oneonta women's swimming & diving team took a setback, as they were defeated in the pool 161-135 at Brockport.
Notable results from Oneonta took place in the opening race when senior
Erin Clune (Kerhonkson/Rondout Valley),
Emma Stephenson (Owego/Owego Free Academy), freshman
Callie Stinson (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac ) and junior
Emily Abrams (Fort Plain/Fort Plain) checked in victoriously at 1:58.04 more than three-seconds ahead of the Brockport second place finishers. Clune got a win also in the 100 yard backstroke touching the wall at 1:01.87 more than seven-seconds ahead of her teammate sophomore
Emma Trumino (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) who secured runner-up honors. Clune repeated a winning position in the 200 yard breaststroke 2:18.48 more than six-seconds ahead of the Brockport chaser.
Clune followed it up with the top position in the 200 yard individual medley scoring a time of 2:23.00 only.68 seconds ahead of the Brockport swimmer.
Stinson got herself a win in the 100 yard butterfly with time of 1:05.21 only less than two-seconds ahead of the Eagles second place finisher.
The Red Dragon women will get back in the pool with competition against St. Rose and RPI on Sunday, November 7th in Albany at 1 PM.
