Brockport, NY - The SUNY Oneonta women's swimming and diving squad just returned from Puerto Rico and its annual training trip. Today, they traveled to SUNYAC foe Brockport and came up on the short end of a 179-116 loss.
Several highlights for the women though to report on. The day started off on a high note as sophomore
Erin Clune (Kerhonkson/Rodout Valley), senior
Kelly Carey (Suffern/Suffern), freshman
Emily Abrams (Fort Plain/Fort Plain) and junior
Katherine London (Staten Island/St. Joseph Hill Academy) were victorious in the 200 yard medley relay tallying a time of 1:56.66 under a second ahead of the Brockport runners-up.  London had her own win in the 200 yard freestyle securing a time of 2:03.23 just under two-seconds ahead of the Brockport second place finisher.  Clune came back and also brought home a win in the 100 yard backstroke touching in at 2:25.28 almost six-seconds better than the Brockport challenger. Carey was also a victor in the 100 yard breaststroke recording a time of 1:12.30 just under a second ahead of the Brockport foe. Carey again a winner in the 200 yard breaststroke timing in at 2:38.57 over two-seconds ahead of the Brockport challenger.  That win by Carey in the 200 yard breaststroke concluded the last win on the day for the Red Dragon women.
Next up for the Red Dragons is a meet against another SUNYAC foe as they compete against the New Paltz Hawks on Saturday , January 25th beginning at 1 PM in the Chase PE pool on the campus of SUNY Oneonta.
