Anson and Bilow lift field hockey over Ramapo, 5-2

A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team defeated Ramapo College 5-2 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at All College Field. The win lifts the Red Dragons record to 4-5 on the season.

The Inside Story
After a scoreless first half, Grace Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) put Oneonta on the board 7:45 into the third quarter when she put back a rebound in front for her second goal of the season.
Ramapo responded in the 49th minute on a Victoria Docherty goal, knotting the game at 1-1. Oneonta took the lead for good when Grace Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) fed a pass back to Alise Anson (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley), who ripped a shot past the Ramapo goalie for a 2-1 advantage.

The Red Dragons would add to their lead in the 53rd minute. With the ball in the circle on a penalty corner, a Ramapo defender tried to clear it out, but Sophia Little (Northport/Northport) intercepted the ball, putting it into the net for a 3-1 lead. In the 57th minute, Grace Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) successfully converted a penalty stroke to give Oneonta comfortable 4-1 lead. After Ramapo added a goal in the 58th minute, Oneonta's Alise Anson (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) put back a rebound for her second maker of the game.
