The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team fell to Geneseo 6-2 in SUNYAC action Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Red Dragons record to 6-8 overall and 2-2 in league play.
The Inside Story
The Red Dragons got on the board 6:34 into the contest when 
Emily Raymond (Deposit/Deposit) connected with 
Grace Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) for her third goal of the season.
Geneseo knotted the game at 1-1 with 4:52 remaining in the first half on a Julia Kim goal. The Knights took the lead 2:43 into the third quarter when Maggie Phipps scored on a pass from Haley Clark. Phipps struck again three minutes latervon a feed from Erin Nolan to give Geneseo a 3-1 advantage.
Erin Nolan increased the Geneseo lead 1:49 into the fourth quarter with her tenth goal of the season. Maggie Phipps would complete her hat-trick when she put back a rebound in front of the Oneonta net. Phipps capped off her four-goal game in the 50
th minute to up the Geneseo lead to 6-1.
Emily Raymond (Deposit/Deposit) scored Oneonta's second goal from ten yards out on feeds from 
Sophia Little (Northport/Northport) and 
Jillian Knopf (Sayville/Sayville) to make to the final score 6-2.
