The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team fell to Skidmore College 4-1 Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action. The loss drops the Red Dragons record to 6-7 on the year.
The Inside Story
Skidmore jumped out to a fast start with two goals in the first quarter. The first maker came just 2:11 into the game when Morgan Sickels found the back of the net for her third of the season. The Thoroughbreds added to their lead in the ninth minute on a Carrie Hughes goal.

Morgan Fleming (Harpursville/Harpursville) in front to cut the Red Dragons deficit in half.
Skidmore put the game out of reach 3:55 into the second half on a Sofia Marshall tally off a corner to make it 3-1. Less than four minutes later, Mariah Redler gave Skidmore the 4-1 advantage on pass from Sarah Winters.

Oneonta goalie Kristy Campana (Melville/Walt Whitman) made 15 saves in the loss.
What's Next
The Red Dragons return to action on Saturday, October 19th when they travel to Geneseo for a SUNYAC battle at 6:00pm.
