The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team defeated Keuka College 5-1 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Red Dragons record to 5-5 on the year.
Allyson Wells (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) got the scoring started 3:33 into the game when she snuck a shot inside the right post for her sixth goal of the year.
Allyson Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) added to Oneonta's lead when she lifted a shot over the Keuka goalie for a 2-0 advantage.
After Keuka opened the second half with a Shelby Lamb goal,
Allyson Wells (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) responded with her second of the game on a breakaway. In the 62
nd minute,
Carissa Warren (Harpursville/Harpursville) upped the Red Dragons lead to 4-1 on a pass from
Grace Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas). An
Allyson Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) goal in the 65
th minute made the final score 5-1.
Danell Jones (Whitney Point/Whitney Point) made two saves as Oneonta outshot Keuka 28-4 in the game.
The Red Dragons return to action on Friday, October 5
th when they host SUNY Cortland at 4:00 p.m.
