The Oneonta field hockey team opened SUNYAC play with a 4-0 victory over Morrisville State Wednesday evening. The win lifts the Red Dragons record to 4-5 overall and 1-0 in league action.
 
Cali Cortese (Yorktown Heights/Lakeland) put Oneonta on the board in the 13^th minute when Alise Anson (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) found her by the right post for her fourth goal of the season. Just 1:20 later Alise Anson (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) added to the Oneonta lead with a sweep shot on feed from Grace Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas). The Red Dragons kept the pressure on the Mustangs as Chole Lynch netted her first goal of the season just 51 seconds later to make the score 3-0.
 
Allyson Wells (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) would add a goal in the 55^th minute on a pass from Allyson Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) to make the final score 4-0. The Red Dragons outshot Morrisville 32-7 in the game, with a 13-1 advantage in penalty corners.
 
Danell Jones (Whitney Point/Whitney Point) earned her first shutout of the season after making five saves.
 
Oneonta returns to action on Saturday, September 29^th when they travel to Keuka College for a 1:00 p.m. start.
