GLASSBORO, NJ – The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team fell to Rowan University 6-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Forward
Rachel Galante and
Bridget Guinan each scored twice. Back
Julie Johnson contributed two assists. Midfielder
Bridget Boyle produced one goal and one assist. Midfielder
Molly Gorczyca added a goal.
Rowan is undefeated with an 8-0 record and ranked 13
thin the nation. Oneonta has a 3-5 record.
For the Red Dragons, forwards
Allyson Wells (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) and
Emily Raymond (Deposit/Deposit) each had a goal. Midfielder/back
Carissa Warren (Harpursville/Harpursville) registered an assist.
Rowan outshot Oneonta, 17-11. The Red Dragons' goalie
Danell Jones (Whitney Point/Whitney Point) stopped seven shots. For the Profs, goalie
Morgan Novak made five saves.
Wells put the Red Dragons on the scoreboard first at 10:08. Galante gave Rowan a 2-1 advantage with goals at 11:09 and 14:19. Boyle's score came at the 22 minute mark and Guinan followed with two straight (26:45, 28:06). Gorczyca ended the first half scoring at 33:51 with a pass from Boyle on a penalty corner. Raymond connected with Warren for Oneonta's final goal at 62:01.
