The SUNY Oneonta field hockey defeated Wells College 9-0 in non-conference action Wednesday evening. The win lifts the Red Dragons record to 2-3 while the Express fall to 0-4.
Seven different players scored for Oneonta.
Alise Anson (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) and
Catherine Soults (Clinton/Clinton) each netted a pair a goals. Soults tallied her first collegiate goal in the 59
th minute, adding her second goal just 1:08 later.
Allyson Wells (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) got the scoring started just 37 seconds into the game when she gathered a rebound in front. After a pair of
Alise Anson (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) goals put the Red Dragons in front 3-0,
Grace Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) found the back of the net off of a penalty corner.
In the 14
th minute,
Emily Raymond (Deposit/Deposit) tallied her second goal of the season on a centering pass from
Carly Byman (Garnerville/North Rockland) to give the Red Dragons a 5-0 lead at halftime.
Emily Lutz (Carle Place/Carle Place) opened the second half scoring with a pass from
Alexa Ryan (Yorktown Heights/Lakeland). After
Catherine Soults (Clinton/Clinton) made the score 8-0, freshman
Carlene Eaton (Cincinnatus/Marathon) wrapped up the scoring with her first collegiate goal on an assist from
Emily Raymond (Deposit/Deposit).
Carly Olson made two saves in net for the Red Dragons as Oneonta outshot Wells 32-3 in the game.

th when they host Gwynedd Mercy at 2:00 p.m.
