Oneonta,NY. The Red Dragons improve their record to 2-1, after scoring an overtime goal off the stick of freshman
Colleen Geyer (West Nyack/Clarkstown South). Geyer's goal was the first goal of her college career which came in the 81
st minute, for the sudden victory win to hand Hartwick (2-1) their first loss of the season. The goal was assisted by junior
Carissa Warren (Harpursville/Harpursville), which was her second assist on the year.
The Red Dragons struck first in the 24
th minute of the game when senior
Nicole Johnston (Bedford Village/Fox Lane) received a pass from classmate
Allyson Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas), which she planted in the back of the cage, 1-0. This was Johnston's first goal of the season and Bilow's first assist.
The Hawk's Claudia Stone answered with a goal ten minutes later in the last minute of the first half to knot the game at one goal apiece. The goal was assisted by Tegan Robinson.
The Red Dragons defense buckled down in the second half, not allowing a single goal off of 10 shots and 10 penalty corners. Sophmore goaltender
Danell Jones (Whitney Point/Whitney Point) had six saves with her first victory of the season (1-1).
With the score tied 1-1, the Red Dragons push forward with an offensive game plan in the overtime period as they held the ball in Hartwick's defensive third for a total of three penalty corners and five shots, including Geyer's game winning goal.
