Box Score Farmingdale, NY – SUNY Oneonta men's tennis dominated their opponent for the second match in a row today as they defeated the SUNY Farmingdale Rams 8-1. The Red Dragons simply had too much firepower for the Rams and the match was pretty much a lopsided affair.
The doubles portion of the match showed Red Dragon supremacy in all phases. Number one doubles sophomore
Joseph D'Orazio (Smithtown/Smithtown) and senior
Michael Nelson (Manhasset/Manhasset) showed their mastery of the net and took down their opponents 8-3. The second doubles team today was sophomore
Nicholas Fox (Commack/Commack) and junior
Cole Laffitte (East Setauket/Ward Melville) who was getting a rare start in the doubles stanza. The pair did not disappoint and won easily by a score of 8-1. The third flight team of junior
Zach Lasky (Latham/Colonie) and freshman
Marco Ammirati (Huntington/Huntington) won by shutting out their opponent 8-0 in just a 1/2 hour. The three victories in doubles allowed singles play to begin with the Red Dragons holding a comfortable 3-0 lead.
