MADISON, WIS. -- The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its East Division and West Division men's tennis awards for the 2026 season, and the Oneonta men's tennis team had four members selected to the All-Conference teams. Senior
William Schmid (Yonkers/Salesian HS) and junior
Chris Chippari (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) were both named to the All-WIAC East Division Singles and Doubles team. Sophomore
Jaden Ritterman (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) earned a spot on the East Division Singles team, and senior
Nate Inzerillo (Center Moriches/Center Moriches) was selected to the conference's All-Sportsmanship team.
"I am very proud of these four individuals who received All-WIAC honors this year," said Head Coach
Brian Roser. "It was great to see Will Schmid and
Chris Chippari (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) selected for the second year in a row at singles and doubles."
Chippari and Schmid were the Red Dragons number one duo for the second straight year, finishing the season 10-9 on the top court when they played together. Chippari ended the year with an 11-9 doubles record, with a win coming from court three, while Schmid went 12-7 overall in doubles, playing each match on court one.
Schmid capped off his senior season with an 11-10 record in singles play. The Red Dragon senior finished his career with 38 singles wins and 40 doubles wins for 78 career victories.
"Congratulations to Will on an incredible career," Coach Roser commented. "He finished in the top 15 for all-time career wins at Oneonta and tied for 13th with career doubles wins. I'm looking forward to continuing the success with Chippari and Ritterman, as well as the rest of the guys next year."
Chippari competed on court one in singles play throughout the season and finished with six wins. He will enter his senior year with 28 career singles wins and 28 career wins in doubles play.
Ritterman recorded eight victories in singles to earn his first All-Conference accolade. He primarily played on court three, where he won five matches, and he picked up one victory on court two and a pair of wins on court four.
"
Jaden Ritterman (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) had a fantastic sophomore season for us earning singles recognition," Coach Roser continued. "This is an incredibly impressive achievement for all these guys. Receiving and accolades in the WIAC for tennis is a difficult feat, as two nationally ranked teams compete in it every year."
In his senior season, Inzerillo went 7-8 in singles play, accumulating three wins on court five, two on court six, and one on courts two and four. The Center Moriches, N.Y. native picked up a doubles win in on court one with Schmid in Oneonta's final home match of the season against Delhi.
"
Nate Inzerillo (Center Moriches/Center Moriches) had a great four-year career with us," Coach Roser concluded. "Congratulations to him on earning the All-Sportsmanship award."
An All-Sportsmanship Team was named for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each team as selected by that team.
Oneonta finished the season with an overall record of 10-11, going 1-1 against WIAC opponents. The Red Dragons will move away from the WIAC and join the Empire 8 conference beginning next season.
