The Red Dragons traveled to Schenectady to take on Union College in a mid-week regional matchup. The Red Dragons would hang with Union in all three matches, but could not pull out a set victory losing 3-0.

The Red Dragons would drop the first 25-19. In the set the Red Dragons would play neck and neck with Union, until the 18^th point. With the scored knotted at 18, Union would go on a 7-1 run to win the set. In the second set, the Red Dragons would battle back and forth for the lead but Union would come out ahead of the Red Dragons in the end with a 25-23 victory. In the third and final set Union was trailing to the Red Dragons 13-7. The Red Dragons would drop the six point lead and the set 25-23.

For the Red Dragons, senior Paige Carpluk (Yaphank/Bellport) had seven kills, four blocks and nine digs. Senior Jessica Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) (14) and freshman Jessica Fowler (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills) (12) each had double digit assists. Senior Kassidt Kievit had a team high six blocks and added six kills. Freshman Lindsay Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) had 11 digs.  

The Red Dragons are back in action this weekend with the opening of SUNYAC pool play at SUNY Brockport. The Red Dragons first match will be against Buffalo State on Friday at 5pm.
