Box Score Oneonta, NY – The Baruch College Bearcats from The City University of NY conference took the four-hour ride up from New York City to take on the Red Dragons men's tennis squad. The Red Dragons were missing their two top players who were competing at the ITA's but still managed to pick up an impressive win. The Bearcats could not match the depth of the Red Dragons and set back Baruch College 7-2.
Doubles competition saw the Red Dragons come away with a 2-1 lead. Junior Tim Distler and sophomore Michael Denigris played flawless tennis and got the breaks needed and doubled up their opponents 8-4 on the second flight. Junior

Marco Ammirati (Huntington/Huntington) also had little trouble jumping out to a 7-2 lead and closing out their third doubles foes 8-3.
The 2-1 lead held after doubles was an advantage the Red Dragons would never relinquish. Number one singles player Denigris played two spots up from his regular spot and was very impressive in taking the match 7-5, 6-4 (11-9). Denigris found his form and stayed mentally tough throughout and won his first match ever at the one flight. Lasky won his second match in a row this week also playing out of position securing a 6-3. 6-2 triumph in his normal grind it out fashion. Distler was also a winner at four flight as he earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory playing out of his normal sixth position. Junior Nick Fox got a rare singles start and did not squander the opportunity winning 6-1, 6-2. Ammarati won his first dual match in singles earning an impressive 6-1, 6-2 win.
The SUNY Oneonta Red Dragon men's tennis team will head out for a road match Wednesday, October 5
th at Wilkes University beginning at 3:30 PM.
