Box Score Annandale-On-Hudson, NY – The SUNY Oneonta men's tennis team came away with lopsided win versus Bard College last night on the road.  The win for the Red Dragons was its second win in a row, as they raised its dual-match record for the year to 5-9.

The Red Dragons were never threatened throughout the doubles portion of the competition only dropping a few stray games.  Senior Benjamin Leighton (Shokan/Onteora) and senior Mackenzie Park (Elmira/Elmira Free Academy) had little trouble dispensing their foes with a commanding 8-3 triumph.  Junior Matthew Richards (Bayport/Bayport Bluepoint) and sophomore Matteo Befi (Hastings on Hudson/Hastings) did not drop a service game and broke serve three times to clinch victory.  At number three doubles junior Joseph Morris (Bainbridge/Sidney Senior High School) and freshman Cole Laffitte (East Setauket/Ward Melville) continued their winning ways as well with an 8-3 victory.

Going into the singles competition already with a commanding 3-0 lead Leighton and Park secured the Red Dragon win with convincing victories at the number one and two spot respectfully.  Laffitte, Richards and freshman Zach Lasky (Colonie/Colonie) had easy straight set wins to round out the conquest of Bard who never even got into a lurking position to make the Red Dragons uncomfortable.  Lasky's win today made it four out of the last five for him including four wins in a row where he has only lost six games. 

The Red Dragons travel to Norton, MA on Friday to take on Wheaton College men's squad beginning at 4 PM.
