Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field hockey’s offense topples Morrisville

The Red Dragons offense was red hot, scoring a season high of eight goals, and setting up a solid defense, shutting out the Morrisville Mustangs. The Red Dragons offense was firing on all cylinders as five different players scored for the Red Dragons, and three of them scored multiple goals. The Red Dragons had 25 shots on goal, and 16 penalty corners in the game.

The Red Dragons came out of the gate scoring a goal seven minutes into the game, off the stick of Allyson Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) with an assist by Tatum Knapp (Marathon/Marathon). After Bilow broke the ice, the Red Dragons would add two more points, within three minutes of the first goal. The first of those goals was scored by Killeen Martin (Bay Shore/Bay Shore) and the second, to make the tally 3-0, was scored by Allyson Wells (Niskayuna/Niskayuna). The Wells' goal came when she dribbled in 30 yards, and snuck the ball in between the Morrisville goalie's legs.

With the score 3-0, freshman Kiley Lamoreaux (Walton/Walton) scored her first goal in a Red Dragons' uniform, to increase the count to 4-0. The fifth and sixth goals came off the stick of Carly Sicker (East Rochester/East Rochester). She would score her two goals four minutes apart, to widen Oneonta's lead to 6-0.

The Red Dragons would come out for the second half, still hungry for goals. The first goal in the second half was Wells' second goal of the game and eighth on the season. The last goal for the Red Dragons was scored by Martin, her second of the game and fourth of the season.

The Red Dragon defense held strong as senior Krista Servedio (Shrub Oak/Lakeland) and freshman Carly Olsen (Miller Place/Miller Place) combined on the shutout.

The Red Dragons next game is Saturday October 24th against Stevens Institute at 11am in Hoboken, NJ.
