Box Score The SUNY Oneonta men's tennis team got back to its winning ways today, as they hosted and swept Hartwick by the score of 9-0. The win for the Red Dragons snapped a six-match skid while the loss for the Hawks kept them winless on the season.
Oneonta (5-7) surrendered only six points today en route to posting the shutout. The Red Dragons gave up two points in doubles play and three in singles action to Hartwick (0-7).
Winners in doubles for Oneonta were senior Michael Kennelly and junior Mackenzie Park at No. 1, senior Benjamin Leighton and junior Matthew Richards at No. 2 and sophomore Damien Prohaska and freshman
James Garzia (Marcellus/Marcellus) at No. 3.
Kennelly, Park, Leighton, Richards and Prohaska also recorded victories at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 singles while senior Ryohei Nakamura won at No. 5 singles.
Oneonta will be in action again on Friday, as they travel to Scranton to begin a busy weekend of tennis. The Red Dragons will play a pair of matches at the U.S. Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. on Saturday against Baruch and Hunter before coming home to face Wheaton (MA) College on Sunday.
