The SUNY Oneonta men's swimming and diving team made it two consecutive years of defeating the New Paltz Hawks in a dual meet. The Red Dragons won 113-87 to raise its dual-meet record to 5-2.
Junior Colton Roe led Oneonta with two individual event wins on the afternoon. Roe won the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke.
Roe, sophomore Joseph Morgan and freshman Greg Fothergill finished one, two and three, taking sixteen points in the 200-yard backstroke.
Red Dragon swimmers finished one-two in three events, including the 200-yard intermediate medley, 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle. Lucas Santiago won the IM and Morgan finished second. Senior Ryan Walsh took first in the butterfly while Santiago touched in second. In the 500 freestyle, Daniel Donaghy and Kevin Flessa finished in first and second, respectively.
Stephen Penteck was the other individual winner for Oneonta as he won the 1000-yard freestyle.
Flessa, Conor Kelly, Walsh and Donaghy won the 400-yard medley relay while the team of Fothergill, Alexander Heilmann, Zach Comeau and Daniel Condon took second.
Oneonta will be in action again next Saturday, February 1st, when they host Cortland for a 1:00 pm start.
