SUNY Oneonta Field Hockey returned home from the St. Lawrence Tournament today sweeping both games this weekend with a 2-0 victory over the host yesterday and a 9-1 rout of Cedar Crest today.

In Saturday's game, junior forward
Kelcy Forbragd (Camden/Camden) scored one goal and provided an assist on another as the Red Dragons defeated St. Lawrence 2-0 in the season opener for both teams. Oneonta (2-0) scored the only goal of a tight first half with exactly two minutes left on the clock prior to half time off a penalty corner.
Hannah Hayward (Glens Falls/Glens Falls) sent a pass to Forbragd who was on her left. Forbragd snapped a shot between the Saint goalie to the inside of the near post for the game's first goal.
The Saints had some chances in the first half and trailed 10-8 in shots, but the Red Dragons came out firing in the second half and outshot the Saints 9-1 in the first 12 minutes of the second period. Oneonta added to their lead with 2:27 remaining in regulation time when Forbragd again had a hand in the scoring.
Andrea Day (Greene/Greene) worked the ball in from the right side and got it to Forbragd, who sent a pass across the goal mouth which
Anna Torri (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) tapped home to make it a 2-0 game at 67:33.
Oneonta's goalie,
Krista Servedio (Shrub Oak/Lakeland), stopped all six Saint shots on goal for her first shutout of the year.
Today's game against Cedar Crest was over within the first half of the game as Oneonta scored all nine of their goals within tthat time frame. Day started the scoring off just 1:07 into the game when she was able to finish off a pass from
Ashley Morgan (Putnam Valley/Putnam Valley) to the near post. Day followed up with her second goal, just a little over two minutes later, on pass from Morgan to the center of the goal.

The Red Dragons would go on to score six goals in less than a ten minute span.
Erin Butler (Walton/Walton) and
Anna Torri (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) each scored two goals while
Sierra Earle (Baldwinsville/Baldwinsville) and
Tatum Knapp (Marathon/Marathon) adding one. Knapp added a second goal in the half just four minutes shy of the intermission.
Oneonta outshot the Falcons 40-4 and had a 9-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Servedio and
Tess Tracy (Liverpool/Liverpool) shared the goalkeeping responsibilities with Tracy picking up one save in the game and Servedio earning her second victory on the season.

Oneonta will be in action again this Wednesday, Sept. 4
th, for their home opener against Hamilton. Game time is slated for a 6:00 p.m. start.
