The SUNY Oneonta women's tennis took a little more than 2-1/2 hours to sweep through the College at Brockport today 9-0. The win for the Red Dragons evens its dual-match record at 2-2 overall while the Golden Eagles fall to 2-4 overall.
In winning today's match, Oneonta surrendered only 28 games and won all the singles matches in straight sets.
Oneonta began the match with a sweep of the doubles. The closest match was at second doubles where sophomore
Brynn Sussman (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) and junior
Abigail Smith (Seneca Falls/Mynderse Academy) prevailed 8-6 against the Brockport duo of Rachel Lamont and Lauren Bohman.
Senior
Danielle Browarski (Colonie/Colonie) and junior
Lauren Skolnick (Sayville/Sayville) won 8-3 at first doubles while
Emily Maggiore (Binghamton/Binghamton) and
Colette Lankowicz (Sayville/Sayville) won 8-0 at third doubles.
All six players came back and played singles for Oneonta. Browarski won at first singles, Sussman won at second singles, Skolnick went 6-0, 6-0 in winning at third singles, Maggiore won at fourth singles, Lankowicz won at fifth singles and Smith won at sixth singles.
Oneonta will be back at it tomorrow morning when they host SUNY Geneseo beginning at 11am.
