Box Score Match Box Score

The SUNY Oneonta women's tennis hopes for a SUNYAC title ended today with a 5-1 loss to New Paltz in the semifinals of the SUNYAC tournament being held at the Binghamton Tennis Center.  The Red Dragons will now play in the third place match tomorrow at noon against the loser of the SUNY Geneseo/Plattsburgh match.

Oneonta's (7-4) lone point in today's match came at first doubles, as the tandem of senior Danielle Browarski (Colonie/Colonie) and junior Lauren Skolnick (Sayville/Sayville) pulled out a 9-7 victory over Montana Wilson and Kayla DiPaulo.  It was the duos 11th win of the season.

The Red Dragons lost the other two doubles matches to fall behind 2-1 entering the singles matches.  New Paltz's (8-1) final three points came at first, fifth and sixth singles.  Browarski fell in straight sets at first singles to Wilson.  Junior Colette Lankowicz (Sayville/Sayville) fell at fifth singles to Jessica Schmidt while classmate Abigail Smith (Seneca Falls/Mynderse Academy) fell at sixth singles to Laura Tierney.
