The Oneonta State women's tennis team traveled to New Paltz this weekend and came away with a split of a pair of matches in SUNYAC East Division play. Yesterday, the Red Dragons fell to the host Hawks, 8-1 before bouncing back today with a hard fought 5-4 win versus Plattsburgh.

The lone point for Oneonta (3-1/1-1) in yesterday's defeat came at first doubles as junior Danielle Browarski (Colonie/Colonie) (Colonie/Colonie) and partner Lauren Skolnick (Sayville/Sayville) (Sayville/Sayville) defeated Montana Wilson and Paige Munroe, 8-5.

Browarski and Wilson also faced each other at first singles with Wilson coming out on top in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

In today's win against Plattsburgh, Oneonta at first and third doubles to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles. Browarski, and freshmen Brynn Sussman (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) and Colette Lankowicz (Sayville/Sayville) (Sayville/Sayville) won at first, second and fifth singles to clinch the match for the Red Dragons.

Oneonta will play its home opener on Monday, Sep. 12 against Elmira beginning at 4:00 p.m.
