FREDONIA, N.Y.—The SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team made a late run, but came up one point short in a 52-51 loss at Fredonia today in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons trailed 51-41 with 3:09 left in the contest and nearly pulled out a win with a 10-1 run over the final three minutes.

Senior Derek Hahn (Youngsville, Sullivan West) recorded his tenth double-double of the season and his third straight, finishing with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Hahn was 10-of-12 from the field while adding a pair of blocks.

Oneonta (6-15/5-9) led for the first part of the first half before Fredonia (6-14/3-11) went ahead for the first time at 16-15 at the 10:30 mark. After a Troy Talbot (Brooklyn, The School for Legal Studies) free throw tied the score, the Blue Devils ran off 10 straight points to lead 26-16 with 4:41 to go in the opening half. Oneonta cut into Fredonia's lead, but still trailed at the break 28-24.

Oneonta grabbed the lead back at 33-32 at the 14:05 mark of the second half on a lay-up by Hahn. The Red Dragons built its lead to 39-34 before the Blue Devils countered with a 17-2 run that gave them its 10-point lead with 3:09 remaining.

Talbot scored six of Oneonta's final 10 points of the game and finished with 13 points. Classmate Brian Hooks (Cohoes, Shaker) added 10 points to round out the double-digit scorers for the Red Dragons.

Oneonta will be in action this Friday night at home when it hosts Geneseo for a SUNYAC contest beginning at 8:00 p.m.
