ONEONTA, N.Y. – Four Oneonta men's basketball team members earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Honors. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their performances on the court and in the classroom. Sophomores
Nate Cohen (Somers, NY/Somers) and
Cam LaClair (Selkirk, NY/Bethlehem) and juniors
Nicholas Cortez (Harlem, NY/Forest Hills) and
Hobson Herlihy (Lawrence, KS/Lawrence) were the Oneonta recipients for 2025-26. To be nominated, a student-athlete must play regularly for the team and carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Athletes who are nominated must also have participated in at least 90 percent or started at least two-thirds of the team's games.
Cohen is an Exercise Science major carrying a 3.5 GPA, and he played in 25 games, averaging 11.0 points per game, 1.0 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals. LaClair is studying Business Administration with a 3.52 GPA, and he played in 25 games with 24 starts averaging 14.2 points per game, 2.3 assists, 7.8 rebounds, and one steal.
Cortez is a Sports Management major with a 3.73 GPA, and he played in 26 games, averaging 12.3 points per game, 2.2 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals. Herlihy is studying Business Administration holding a 3.73 GPA, and he played in 26 games with 22 starts, totaling 123 points for the season.
Oneonta finished the season 17-9 and 15-3 in the SUNYAC. The Red Dragons reached the second round of the SUNYAC Tournament.
